Taylor Welch, the founder of Welch Equities, has been building businesses since 2014 when he took his very first client. In the Fall of 2014 he launched a business newsletter called “Business Builder,” and in 2015 he partnered with an early co-founder to launch a consulting company called Traffic & Funnels.
Traffic & Funnels grew quickly and blossomed into a small portfolio of companies helping folks learn key skills needed for sales & marketing. In spring of 2019, his daughter was born and he began slowly removing himself from the companies to spend more time at home. A management team was brought in and from the course of 2020 to 2021 several new companies & projects were launched inside the portfolio.
Finally, in 2021, he decided there was a need for change in the partnership, and in 2022 he gave his equity to the old co-founder and a new CEO that took possession of the companies. After a 30-day sabbatical he realized that what he loved to do was not sit in a room practicing corporate management — it was building companies. Specifically, robust and healthy companies that made the world smarter & happier.
Today, the Equities portfolio takes minority percentages in companies that meet two criteria:
They are good for the world and good for their clients
They primarily operate online, either in the “service” or “education” industry
